This is the information that Ambassador Franz Jessen, Head of EU delegation in Vietnam raised during the interview of Bloomberg financial news agency.
EU is the fourth largest investor in Vietnam in 2011, with contracted FDI reached 1.77 billion USD, accounting for more than 12% of committed capital to Vietnam last year – according to the data from the EU. Piaggio – motorbike manufacturer from Italy and the Finland mobilephone – Nokia of Finland are two of the companies that invest in production in Vietnam.
Mr. Jessen also said that the EU plans to open a business support center in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this year and early next year to support small and medium enterprises.
