Ho Chi Minh City Will Have 150 Million USD Solar Battery Project

TTi Group has just proposed to invest 150 million USD in an area of 10 hectares in Saigon Hi-tech Park (District 9) to build set up factory in Vietnam, specializing in researching solar batteries.

Specifically, in the framework of the visit and looking for investment opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), the business delegation of TTi Group (USA) led by Mr. H.Jududill, President of TTi Group, is working in HCMC.

President H.J.Pudwill offered to invest 150 million USD in an area of 10 hectares of land in the Saigon Hi-tech Park (District 9) to build a factory and center for researching solar batteries.

With this proposal, according to the High-Tech Park Management Board, there are currently 16 hectares of vacant land and the two sides have made good initial steps for this project.

In addition, recently according to Mr Horst Geicke, Vice President of the German Business Association in Vietnam, Chairman and CEO of the German House in HCMC, the German Government wants to spend a large amount of money to invest in a Vocational center in District 2 and wish that HCMC will facilitate this project.

Saigon Hi-tech Park (SHTP) was established on October 24^th 2002 in District 9, and is one of three national High-Tech Parks established by the Government.

This hi-tech park has a phase 1 area of 300 ha, phase 2 of 200 ha. Currently, there are many domestic and foreign companies operating in the high-tech field, investing to set up factory, most notably is Nidec of Japan invested 1 billion USD to produce optical reader devices and audio-visual equipment.

The US company Intel has also been licensed to invest 1 billion USD in 2006 to manufacture and assemble computer chips. Besides, the Air Liquide Group of France, the leading supplier in the field of industrial, medical and environmental gases is also present to produce and supply pure and highly reliable gas for industrial and medical gas market in Southern Vietnam…
